Monday, March 19, 2007 at 11:38:38 (CET) Top top night last thursday. So great to see a lot of people i havent seen in ages. People I would say are genuine Stranglers fans and very appreciative of Paul. What the night proved to me (as if it needed to be proved) is that Paul was the heart and soul of the band over the past few years and he is very much missed. I STILL havent bought Suite 16 or seem them live since he departed and have no intention to. Roll on the tour in September..........

Friday, March 09, 2007 at 22:56:45 (CET) What can I say - an absolutely fantastic night - it was so good to hear so many old classics from the Paul / John era. Particularly Sinister - superb. Great to hear Paul was on such top form as was the rest of the band. Also really nice to meet up with people I haven't seen for years ;o) Lets hope there are more of these gigs (September hopefully- best night I've had out for a long long time. The atmosphere in the audience was great, and it reminded me of the Monarch / Bordeline gigs :o)) - Took tons of piccies so if anyone wants a few just let me know.

Friday, March 09, 2007 at 17:15:43 (CET) Went to the gig last night at the 100 Club and as a long term Stranglers fan I just wanted to say that I thought it was fantastic. Paul's vocals were spot on,great energetic performance and there was some decent banter with the crowd. (Apart from the moron who thought it would be hilarious to shout "Where's Hugh Cornwall". Firstly, he left a long, long time ago. Secondly its "Cornwell". Thirdly, If your mum and dad weren't brother and sister you wouldn't ask such dumb questions) However, moron's aside it was great to hear some songs that haven't been played live for a long time as well as some great Soulsec tracks that I hadn't heard before. Looking forward to seeing some more Soulsec live gigs and all the best for the future Paul.

Friday, March 09, 2007 at 15:18:25 (CET) Sounds like it was a great night. Hope to be there in Sept if there's a tour. Anyone take any photos? If anyone needs a 100 Club ticket for Thurs email me. I have one, am unable to attend, cannot get a refund, but I can re-allocate it to someone.

Saturday, March 03, 2007 at 05:48:26 (CET) Great, great evening - and more to the point - very informative too. We learned a lot about Paul & his time with the band.... it's interesting to hear what really went on from the inside, rather than all the rubbishy speculation & gossip that appears on so many forums... Thanks for a great evening Paul - looking forward to the big electric bash next week!!!! For those who are interested, the songs played included GOLDEN BOY, MONEY, STILL LIFE, 8 DAYS, MINE ALL MINE, SINISTER, HERE, VALLEY OF THE BIRDS, IN A WHILE, IN HEAVEN SHE WALKS, DESERT SOUL and GOLDEN BROWN Oh, and Paul sang SLIPPING AWAY from Suite XVI which he wrote. Great version too!!!

Thursday, March 01, 2007 at 21:55:16 (CET) A really great acoustic night. Paul and Andy were on top form. My wife was a jazz drummer and has made every excuse under the sun to ensure she never came to another Stranglers concert after the Albert Hall (to me that was one of the best ever but we can't all be fans) She had no interest in Paul but as it was local I talked her into it. She is now a complete fan. She brought the CD got it signed and even got a kiss. She was acting like a school kid (I can't tell you her age but it was a few years back) Some of her comments were:- What an absolutely stunning voice. That guitar player (Andy) is just amazing. What great songs and lyrics. This has got to be one of the best we have been to and we have been to quite a few. Her only feedback was why did so many people waste time asking questions about the past when I wanted to hear more music. (Paul ditch the slide show was the suggestion) I know it was in a comedy bunker so I guess the chat and slide show was in deference to that so I really hope we can make the 100club. If there is a powerpoint presentation there I am going to format your hard drive so we can get more music. But I can't wait to get home tonight to listen to the CD and am going to be gutted if we can't make the 100club. It was a great little intimate venue in Rooslip.
