Happy New Year Paul!

Still can't believe you've left The Stranglers. Was the Nottingham Rock City gig in Dec '05 your final appearance?

I said it last March at the 100 Club gig and I'll say it again now - Thank You for the 16 years you gave to them. They're not the same without you - still good but a certain dynamic has been lost, especially when they play live.

I just hope you're all still mates and they appreciate your efforts as much as the rest of us.

All the best,

Raven, Newark-on-Trent, UK.

Re: CRANFORD

Paul appear at the very beginning of Episode 2 (throughout the church scene) and made a lightningly brief appearance in the garden scene at the end of Episode 6 (tho this really is a blink & you'll miss him scene!)

The church scene is Fab........

I agree with you Paul it would be great if more people attended these acoustic shows, unfortunately Paul is suffering from the Lead Singer leaving an established band syndrome, in effect alot of Stranglers fans( not all i hasten to add!!) are to shallow to Listen to his Music and would rather listen to 30 year old tunes being rehashed on every tour than opening their ears and listening to something NEW!!
Paul's new music is superb (Desert Soul, Can't Stop etc) and i am sure these small shows are the foundation of bigger things & bigger crowds to come ...WATCH THIS SPACE....

hi all

saw Paul and Andy last night at The Mill in Thatcham. Great preformance as always, however the venue and turnout was terrible. Come on people who visit this site come along and support them, they are well worth the effort.

good to chat with you Paul and look forward to seeing you in Kidlinton in Feb (make a diary note one and all and come along)

Some of you will know who I am,and others won't Ha,Ha! Monday at the walkabout in Brum was out of this world, music for the soul! Paul and the chaps played out of their skins, and for me there were too many highlights to mention. The band deserved a far bigger and judging by some comments made on this page,a more grateful audience! I for one, felt privileged to be there! They were let down by the promoter, something the band cannot control! Some people need to keep it real, the boys are up there doing it, your not! which gives them, the band, total credibility.
May be the small acoustic gigs could be better attended too and would really show support for a band that works hard, and deserves more recognition than they are currently getting.
Latest album I-TRACKS is the business and I'm sure there is more in the offing, may be in time for Christmas perhaps?
See you all soon Merry Christmas. Wheels?

Just a quick note to let everyone know that tonight's gig has had to be cancelled due to illness. So see you all at Thatcham on Friday

Acoustic gig in Walthamstow tonight. Small crowd, but well received. John Ellis was the surprise guest, playing alongside Andy (the Ellis twins?) for 3 songs. Red wine was a bit ropey though!

I have to agree with Chris here. Turnout was disappointing but I have to say it was your loss! The music was fantastic. It's been a while since the floor vibrated and I could feel the music in my chest! Ears rang for 2 days. Set was great. There are little changes almost every time now. Having Martin step in on keyboards was inspired. Even with little rehearsal he hardly put a foot (or finger) wrong. Paul could do worse than using this as a permanent line up for Soulsec. Andy played out of his skin and the solo in Heaven or Hell was awesome. I was very disappointed when John left but Andy has proved to be more than a replacement. He takes the material and makes it his own without taking anything away from the original. Brad was exceptional as usual and with Micky and Paul keeping things together I just wanted the night to turn into Groundhog Day - repeating over and over.

I have been told that no one should miss tonight's gig as something's in the air...Don't ask me, I don't know anything but come along tonight and find out.

Hope to see some of you tonight or tomorrow in Calne.
